Procedure

How we help

Contacting the Ombudsman is free. You can submit a complaint online, by e-mail, by post, in person at a reception office or via the hotline.

How to submit a complaint
  1. You contact us

    Describe the situation and add documents and contacts. Deadline: within one year from the day you learned about the violation.

  2. We review the complaint

    We check whether the issue falls within the Ombudsman’s mandate and clarify details if needed.

  3. We respond

    We open proceedings, address public authorities, carry out inspections and monitoring visits.

  4. Rights are restored

    We inform you of the outcome and monitor the implementation of our recommendations.

Before you apply, please check

The Ombudsman cannot accept a complaint in four cases. If yours is different, contact us — we will help.

  • The case is already in courtThe Ombudsman does not interfere in ongoing court proceedings.
  • Dispute with a private employerLabour disputes with private companies and competition issues.
  • Anonymous complaintComplaints without a name and address for reply are not considered.
  • More than a year has passedApply within one year of the violation; in exceptional cases — up to two years.
